Purpose
To provide estimates of national characteristics of

police-reported motor-vehicle-crashes - fatal and non-fatal.

Description
Motor-vehicle-related crashes that occur on a public trafficway

that were reported to the local police and then to a central state

agency to be used in compiling statewide data.

Special Features
Accident, vehicle/driver and person files. Data on age, sex,

injury severity, safety restraint use and alcohol/drug

involvement. Crash location, vehicle characteristics,

demographics, injury severity, other characteristics of persons

involved.
